Grocery Shoppers
Shop weekly or bi-weekly for seniors who are unable to shop for themselves. Volunteers pick up the grocery list, shop, then deliver groceries to seniors. As a volunteer in this Grocery Shopping Assistance Program, you may also be immediately connected to our Friendly Home Visitor Program when you regularly visit for thirty minutes or more with your senior friend. This is a great opportunity to enjoy friendship with our many interesting seniors in the community.
Meals on Wheels Delivery and Meal Assembly
Deliver meals midday on routes throughout the Capital Region. Work as a part of an office, business, club, or faith-based meal delivery team, as part of a two-person team, or as an individual volunteer. Additional volunteers are needed to be trained as substitutes for most Meals On Wheels routes.
Meal Assembly Volunteers, preferably groups of 4-6 people, prepare Meals On Wheels in two hour segments, Monday thru Friday, from 9:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Training is provided.
