Instructor: Nancy St. Louis

Nancy has been teaching this great program in the Capital District for over 25 years and her students love her! Her artistic ability allows her to assist others in creating pieces of art that they probably thought they could never do on their own.

Students from beginner to seasoned artists learn how to take clay in greenware form, paint it, and make it into a ceramic form of glass, complete with firing the pieces in the kilns (with Nancy's assistance) that are located at the Senior Center.

Cost: The class is free but there is a charge for the actual ceramic pieces.

Art for Anyone
Instructor: Lucinda Sisniega Abra

Lucinda is a professional artist who enjoys teaching to students young and old. Her interest in art began at an early age with several generations of artists in her family. She has seven years of higher education in Fine Arts, and shows her artwork on a regular basis in the area.

Lucinda's ability, experience and enthusiasm in drawing, painting and sculpture encourage each individual in the class to participate fully with the experience of self expression by exploring the tools and language of art. Whether using pencil, watercolors, acrylics or oil paints, she offers each student individual instruction, based on interest and abilities. Join this class anytime from September through June.

Wednesdays, 9:00 a.m. -12:00 p.m.
Louise Corning Center
Cost: The class is free but there is a charge for materials and art supplies.

Sew Can You!
Instructor: Norma Gonyea

Norma has been teaching this popular class for over 25 years! Norma originally learned to sew by watching her mother, who made all of her clothes by hand. As she grew, she learned how to make her own clothing creations. She is also a natural home decorator who loves to create “picture perfect” rooms – sewing drapes, curtains, bedspreads, pillows, etc. In her house, if it is made of fabric, she probably made it herself. Norma specializes in making things simple in ways that are easy for everyone.
