Get Prescriptions for Less
The City of Albany through SSA's Community Services Department is pleased to offer this service to residents in need of information and counseling on prescription coverage. Offered through a variety of programs including EPIC, Medicaid, Medicare D, Family Health Plus, Child Health Plus and others, income eligible* residents can apply for the hundreds of drugs offered free by manufacturers through Patient Assistance Programs.

How City of Albany Residents Can Benefit

• Low- income residents of all ages receive eligibility screening for the many brand-name and generic drugs offered free directly from the drug manufacturer. We will research and assist in the application process for these programs.
  
  
• Senior residents receive counseling on the new Medicare D drug benefit. Counselors are available to provide information on enrollment dates and available plans.
  
  
• Senior residents learn about the New York State sponsored Elderly Pharmaceutical Insurance Coverage (EPIC), and how it relates to the new Medicare D drug benefit.   
  
  
• Residents of all ages can learn more about Healthy New York, Child Health Plus, Family Health Plus, Medicaid and Medicaid Spend-Down.
